This is such an awesome kid friendly snack recipe to make with the kids! Loaded with oats and coconut they make an excellent after school snack!

Blue Ribbon Recipes Cross PostCan be frozen after fully cooling. To defrost, place on plate.
Can be made without nuts.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 3 ½ cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- dash salt
Instructions
- In saucepan combine
2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder - Bring to a full boil and remove from heat
- Stir in
½ teaspoon vanilla
3 ½ cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup flaked coconut
½ cup chopped walnuts
dash salt - Drop quickly from teaspoon onto waxed paper. Let cool.
- Makes about 48 cookies.
