Throw a Southwestern-style barbecue with these juicy burgers and an assortment of tasty toppings and sides including Chipotle Mayonnaise, Pickled Zucchini and Onions, and Baked Beans.
2 pounds ground pork
1 1/4 pounds ground turkey,
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon coarse salt
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground cumin
Chipotle Mayonnaise, for serving (optional)
Pickled Zucchini and Onions, for serving (optional)
1. Gently mix ground pork, ground turkey, chili powder, coarse salt, and dried oregano and ground cumin. Divide into eight equal portions; shape into 4 1/2-inch-diameter patties.
2. Heat grill to high. Lightly oil grates. Place patties on grill; cover grill, and cook until centers are no longer pink and register 165 degrees on an instant-read thermometer, about 3 minutes per side. (If desired, place a slice of cheese on top of each burger about 1 minute after flipping.)
Serve on a whole-wheat bun spread with Chipotle Mayonnaise (optional).

I used to use ground up pork sausage with venison in a couple of my chili recipes. You couldnt tell it was venison at all. I also made deer burgers a couple times with the ground pork sausage mixed in to give it flavor and keep them from drying out. My ex was a pretty good cook and would put fried jalepenos and a fried egg on top... effin awesome
